ANALISI, INTERPRETAZIONE & SIGNIFICATO DI "Time of your life(Good Riddance)" - Green Day
Nel 1997 I Green Day incidono Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), contenuta nell’album “Nimrod”. E’ stata anche utilizzata in un episodio del telefilm “E. R. Medici in Prima Linea”. Il brano vuole far riflettere sulla vita, sui bei momenti trascorsi, cercando di salvarli nella mente e di portarli sempre con sé. Questa canzone è diversa dalle altre dei Green Day, poiché si sente quasi esclusivamente il cantante Billie Joe Armstrong(il quale ha scritto la canzone) con la sua chitarra acustica, accompagnato dal sottofondo strumentale dei violini. La canzone è dedicata alla sua ragazza, che se n’è andata in Ecuador, e in questo modo lui la vuole ricordare. Il testo vuole anche fare particolare attenzione alla vita, come è corta e imprevedibile, probabilmente ricordando anche un suo amico morto. Secondo Bille Joe Armstrong la fine di un rapporto è un “punto di svolta”(“ Another turning point”).
